Greening the Vale

by Admin on October 6, 2013

You may have spotted a team of local creative professionals filming around the Vale recently. Former ITV News cameraman Mike Coe, ex-BBC producer Alan Miller and former ITV graphic designer Caroline Sutton, now teaching at South Worcestershire College, have come together to work on a short film celebrating local green initiatives.

‘Greening the Vale’, commissioned by Transition Evesham Vale (TEV), will showcase the many creative and innovative ways groups, businesses and individuals in and around the Vale have made the move to a lower carbon way of living and working.

Stephen Martin, TEV Vice Chair, commented: “Mike, Alan and Caroline bring a wide range of expertise to this exciting project which has the backing of the Intelligently Green team at Wychavon District Council. Staff and students from Media, Graphics and Photography at the South Worcestershire College Evesham campus have been involved throughout, and have gained valuable experience working with industry professionals on this high-profile community project.”

“The film is now entering its final stages with editing due to begin shortly.
Alastair McGowan has agreed to introduce the film and we hope to launch it at The Regal cinema later this year.”

Here are just a few of the examples which will be featured:

  • H-BUG – Honeybourne Bicycle User Group
  • Asparagus Festival
  • Jelly, Pickle, Jam community fruit-picking.
  • The Cropthorne Autonomous House
  • Vale First local food festival
  • Pubs & cafes using locally sourced ingredients.
  • Pebworth Porkers
  • Farm Shops selling local produce.
